Award-Winning Quilt Design by Jean Teal 1989
It was the most wonderful thrill and honor to have my original "Designing Doll
Dresses" Quilt be the winner for Wisconsin in the nation-wide Great American Crib
Quilt Contest in 1989! I had such a great time designing each dress that I thought
other people would too, so I have adapted my original designs for this purpose. My
quilt was machine pieced, hand appliqued and hand quilted. This pattern can be
done all by machine. The original designs have been changed somewhat to facilitate
the machine methods. However, it can still be done by hand if you wish.

What a great way to preserve those scraps of fabric from dresses you've made for
yourself, your daughter or granddaughter! You can design each dress with the basic
pattern and some lace, ribbon, buttons etc.
You could use family
keepsakes of old lace, fabric &
buttons - it would be a great
way to preserve those things
and make an heirloom. You'll
be making a historic statement
for future generations.
BE CREATIVE!
